How to Find Your Replacement Motor
- 1.Read the OEM code from the motor label (e.g., ZKFN-80-8-3, ZKFP-40-6-2, ZKFD-250-10-4). The code encodes wattage, pole count, and shaft variant.
- 2.Verify wattage, poles, shaft size and rotation direction. ZKFN-80-8-3 = 80W, 8-pole outdoor motor, shaft variant 3. Always match the full code.
- 3.Or search by unit model in the Parts Finder.
- 4.Dead outdoor fan? Also check the outdoor control board & inverter module — a blown IPM drive often kills the fan motor simultaneously.

FAQ: Mini-Split Fan Motor Replacement
Outdoor fan not spinning — motor or control board?⌄
Check for DC bus voltage at the motor terminals per the service manual.
No voltage at the motor = fault is upstream in the control board or inverter module.
Voltage present but no spin = bad motor. Check the
error codes guide first — error EC07 is an outdoor fan speed fault.
Is a mini-split BLDC motor the same as a furnace ECM motor?⌄
No — they are not interchangeable. Mini-split BLDC motors run on 310V DC at 20–300W from the
outdoor inverter board. Furnace ECM motors run on 120V/240V AC with a separate variable-speed controller.
Match your mini-split motor by the OEM code on the motor label.
